Lexington Neighborhood Finds Flyers from KKK

The flyers were in zip-lock bags and weighted down with rocks or marbles.  The flyers said they are from the KKK and promoted joining.

People who live on Polo Club Blvd. in the Gleneagles Neighborhood said the flyers were put at the bottom of some driveways sometime late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

Some neighbors said they’ve very concerned about the flyers, others said they’re afraid but most of the people said whoever put the flyers out are cowards.

 “If you can put those little flyers in a driveway, you can’t be brave enough to knock on somebody’s door and actually hand it to them so I’m not worried about it at all,” said Sharla McBeth who lives in the apartment complex just off Polo Club Blvd.
 
“I would be concerned but I would hope that all it is, is somebody’s that’s just distributing literature,” said Tom Schaffer who lives near Polo Club Blvd.
 
The KKK left similar flyers in a Pulaski County neighborhood on the eve of Martin Luther King Jr. Day earlier this year.
 
ABC 36 called the 1-800 number listed on the flyer. 
 
The president of the KKK said its members put the flyers out.  He said they put the neighborhood watch flyers out when there is an uptick in crime in certain areas and they put membership flyers out when people are not happy with elected officials.
