Lexington Mayor Jim Gray endorses Linda Gorton
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Former Vice Mayor Linda Gorton has received an endorsement by Lexington’s current mayor.
Mayor Jim Gray announced he was endorsing Gorton at a new conference Friday afternoon at Lexington City Hall.
Gorton served as vice mayor under Gray.
“I’ve worked with Linda for a very long time now for 12 years,” Gray says. “I’ve seen her commitment not only to her work but to her city.”
Gorton’s opponent, Ronnie Bastin, put out a statement on his website shortly after the endorsement, saying Gorton was a “career politician who is beholden to the political insiders at city hall.”
Bastin and Gorton face off in the November 6 general election.
