Lexington man arrested after troopers find more than $100,000 worth of weed

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ)- State police say a man has been arrested after troopers say he was speeding, then was found in possession of over $175,000 worth of marijuana.

KSP says 20-year-old Julio Sanchez, of Lexington, was stopped after troopers clocked him going 90 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone.

Troopers say they noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. After searching the car, troopers found two large square bales of marijuana wrapped in duct tape that estimated around $175,000.

Sanchez was arrested and taken to the Madison County Detention Center.
