Lexington legends celebrate Mother’s day

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Lexington Legends honored mothers at their game on Sunday.

Once inside the gates, mothers were given a flower to recognize them.

Attendees were also able to have merchandise signed by a few ball players.

“Happy mother’s day to my mom and stepmom and all the other moms,” said Alex Mackinnon, a catcher for the Legends. “I know they sacrifice a lot of their time to help us get to where we’re at and I know we’re all pretty grateful for that.”

One mother spoke about the event.

“It’s a beautiful day out here,” said Jennifer. “It’s a blessing to enjoy the day with my children and this wonderful game.”

The first pitch was at 2 p.m.

The legends lost 13-18 tonight against the Charleston Dirty Birds.

Their next home game is May 21.
