Lexington Humane Society holds Annual Santa Pet Pics

Lexington, Ky. (WTVQ) — It’s that time of year, getting your pictures with Santa. And the Lexington Humane Society is making sure that pets aren’t left out.

The humane society hosted their annual pictures with Santa this weekend at two Feeders Pet Supply locations.

All pets were able to get their picture taken with Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas.

The event began at 12 p.m.

Santa and his elf gave out wishbone treats and candy canes.

Organizers love getting to include pets in the holiday fun.

“Oh it’s so special, they enjoy it so much we have repeat people that come every single year and want to make sure that they get this picture,” said Hannah Ferrell, Administrative Specialist for the Lexington Humane Society. “It’s so fun, it’s a tradition for so many, but usually it’s for the parents, the kids. But pets are part of the family too, we firmly believe that here at the lexington humane society. It’s definitely good to come out of you pets with Santa as well.”

All types of pets were welcome. Ferrell says they have had dogs, cats and even lizards.

The event wrapped up at 4 p.m.
