Lexington giving away mulch

LEXINGTON. Ky. (WTVQ) – If you live in Lexington, you can get free mulch for your yard this weekend.

The city says yard waste collected by Lexington’s Division of Waste Management during the past several months is now available as mulch.

A portion of it will be given away on Saturday, May 18, at 1631 Old Frankfort Pike from 8 a.m.- 12 p.m. or until supplies run out.

The mulch will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis and is limited to one pickup truck load per person. There will be a self-load area for those picking up smaller amounts of mulch. It is recommended that self-loading vehicles pack buckets, bags and a shovel to ensure a quick and easy loading process.

Enter via Jimmie Campbell Drive, and look for posted signage that will direct you through the event site.
