Lexington First Responders Volunteering In OK Want Help

A group of Lexington first responders are going to volunteer in Oklahoma, and they would like your help.

Organizers welcome more volunteers.

The group’s leader says anybody could help from picking up tree branches to making sandwiches.

The volunteers from Lexington want to specifically help Oklahoma’s first responders recovering from the tornado.

"A lot of them, their houses and homes are devastated, but, obviously, they can’t take care of that, because they got the general public they got to worry about, take care of," said Mike Sweeney, from the Bluegrass Fraternal Order of Police.

The group leaves May 31st, and plans to return June 5th.
