Lexington couple sentenced to federal prison for selling drugs
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A couple who admitted moving from California to Lexington to sell drugs was sentenced to federal prison.
29-year old Jessica Acosta and 27-year old Luis R. Morales-Montanez, each received 15-years in prison, according to prosecutors.
In their guilty pleas, both admitted they sold crystal methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana out of their home on Larkin Road and another apartment nearby, according to prosecutors.
The couple was also convicted of having nine firearms. They forfeited ownership of the guns, $42,507 in cash and a 2013 Chevy pickup truck, according to prosecutors.
Under federal law, the two must serve 85-percent of their prison sentences; and upon release, each be under the supervision of the United States Probation Office for 5-years.
