Lexington apartment fire leaves one person seriously injured
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – One person suffered potentially life-threatening injuries following an early-morning apartment fire in Lexington.
The fire broke out in the 2800 block of Ryan Circle at around 6:15 a.m. Thursday.
Battalion Chief Jordan Saas says someone called in and reported a smoke odor and, when firefighters arrived, they discovered fire in the building.
Saas says it took about 15 minutes for firefighters to get the fire under control. He says the building sustained moderate damage.
According to Saas, one person was taken to the hospital but there is no word on what injuries the victim suffered.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
