LCSO: Woman admits to breaking-in, stealing from business
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Corbin woman admits to breaking-in to the Corner Market on Highway 830 in Laurel County in late September and stealing items, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say 37-year old Elizabeth Sheridan Chamberlain was arrested Tuesday off Ridings Mitchell Creek Road, west of London.
Investigators say Chamberlain admitted to breaking-in to the business September 29, 2017, destroying security cameras, smoking packs of cigarettes taken from the business and spending stolen money at a local department store.
Deputies say stolen cigarettes, a camo bag and several perfumes were found on Chamberlain along with a glass pipe.
In addition to burglary and drug paraphernalia charges, she was also charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant for failure to appear on an unrelated shoplifting charge, according to deputies.
She was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
