Lawrenceburg Mother Admits To Tying Up Young Daughter

A mother accused of tying up her three-year-old daughter for several hours at a time has entered a guilty plea, according to officials.

Rebecca Medley, 31, entered the plea on Monday in Anderson County Circuit Court after she was charged with first-degree criminal abuse.

According to officials, the young girl’s grandmother, 66-year-old Carolyn Case, pleaded guilty in an earlier court appearance in exchange for a reduced charge of second-degree criminal abuse. She also agreed to testify against Medley and the child’s stepfather, 55-year-old Herbert Medley.

All three suspects were arrested in 2012 after investigators said the girl had been tied to her bed overnight. According to police, Case said the child was "getting into things" and would be tied up as discipline and for naps.
