Lawrenceburg man drowns on vacation with family in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WTVQ/SUN NEWS) – A 44-year old Lawrenceburg man drowned in the ocean while on vacation with his family in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, according to the Sun News.

The report says Andrew Smith was swimming with family members when he drowned.

The report says Smith was pulled from the water Wednesday night and rushed to Grand Strand Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 11:20 p.m.

The report says the cause of death was asphyxiation due to drowning.
