Lawrenceburg community celebrates bicentennial anniversary

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lawrenceburg community celebrated the annual Stave Fest as well as the town’s bicentennial anniversary during a full slate of activities Saturday.

Put off for a year due to COVID-19, the celebrations included 17 food trucks, inflatables, live music, and more than 40 artisans. The Lawrenceburg historical society also gave a presentation detailing what life was like 200 years ago.

“Well we want to think of Lawrenceburg as, yes we are a home town, but we want to be an icon for central Kentucky that people will definitely come back and visit over and over,” said Lawrencburg Mayor Troy Young.

Free brochures detailing the history of Lawrenceburg were available to those visiting stave fest.
