Laurel sheriff: Suspects had drugs and children in motel room

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says three people were found in a motel with drugs. And it says two children were inside the room.

Deputies say it happened Monday night at a Motel 10, south of London. Investigators say two men and a woman were caught with of crystal methamphetamine, two sets of digital scales, plastic baggies and used needles. Deputies say one of the suspects also had a large amount of cash.

The sheriff’s office says 25-year-old Joshua Gibson of Rockholds, 22-year-old Shannon Hollin of Corbin and 27-year-old Rex Gray of Woolum were arrested. It says the suspects face several charges, including drug trafficking.

Deputies say the children belonged to Gibson. According to investigators, social services was called and his 6-year-old child and 7-year-old child are now with other family members.
