Laurel Sheriff Arrest Three in Crime Spree
The Sheriff says it started last Thursday in the community of Fariston when deputies were called to a burglary at Ron’s Country Market.
33-year-old Jonathan Taylor has been arrested and charged in connection to that burglary.
Deputies said he got inside the store by ramming a Jeep Grand Cherokee through the front door.
A few hours later, deputies found that Jeep on fire. According to the Sheriff, the Jeep was burned so badly that they could not determine who the owner is.
Later that day, deputies responded to an assault, where they say the victim identified Taylor as the suspect.
Then on Friday, deputies responded to a man who was reportedly driving a four-wheeler, armed with a sledge hammer, high on meth, and threatening to kill people. According to the Sheriff’s Department, the description matched Taylor’s.
Deputies spotted Taylor on the four-wheeler and tried to pull him over but they say he fled from them, eventually crashing the vehicle and running off.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies got a tip from a neighbor and Taylor was discovered hiding in the closet of a home.
