Laurel County school teacher arrested

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Laurel County middle school teacher is facing charges of criminal and child abuse.

According to a release on the Laurel County Public Schools Facebook page, on Friday, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office notified the school’s police department that 35-year-old Brittany Farmer, a teacher at North Laurel Middle School, had been charged.

The post says the alleged child is Farmer’s child and is not a North Middle School student.

According to the post, the arrest happened off campus and after school hours.

Farmer has been placed on administrative leave until the results of the charges, says the post.
