Laurel County mother arrested after children found wandering

LAUREL CO., Ky. (WTVQ) – A mother is arrested for child endangerment after her two children are found wandering a mile away from their Laurel County home.

Sheriff John Root says deputies were called about two children, ages 2 and 4, walking around a neighborhood at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

They say the 2-year-old was not wearing clothes.

Deputies say, following an extensive search, they found the children’s mother. 25-year-old Sarah Powell, asleep at their home with her boyfriend.

Deputies say the home was in deplorable condition and drug paraphernalia was in plain view.

Powell is charged with endangering the welfare of a minor; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Her boyfriend, 28-year-old Sean Bosch, is also charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia.

They were taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
