Last $1M Kentucky Powerball winner claims prize

HAZARD, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky Lottery officials say the final $1 million prize sold in Kentucky from last week’s $1.5 billion Powerball drawing has been claimed. The player, who wished to remain anonymous, presented a ticket yesterday at lottery headquarters in Louisville that had been sold at Double Kwik #2 on West Ky Hwy 80 in Hazard.

There were a total of three $1 million prizes sold in Kentucky for the world record-breaking drawing. Each ticket matched all five white ball numbers but not the Powerball. The other two prizes were claimed by Linda Windey from a ticket sold at Cincinnati South Travel Center on Richwood Rd in Walton, and by a group of 11 Paducah Head Start teachers and employees who purchased their ticket from the Smoke Shop #2 on North 8th St in Paducah.
