Large gas leak closes roads in Garrard County

LANCASTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – A construction accident is being blamed for a large gas leak in Garrard County.

The accident was reported just before 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Garrard County Emergency Management says the gas leak has forced the closure of Richmond Street at South Campbell Street to Eastland Acres and Richmond Road and also Hamilton Avenue.

Crews are on scene and emergency management says it could take 3-4 hours to repair the leak.
