UPDATE: Paving work to impact event traffic at Central Bank Center, Rupp Arena

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ/Press Release) – Road paving and lane closures on Main Street and Vine Street in Lexington are expected to impact traffic for visitors of the Central Bank Center and Rupp Arena.

Between 10,000 and 12,000 comic enthusiasts are anticipated to visit The Lexington Comic and Toy Convention starting Thursday, Sept. 9 and running through Sunday, Sept. 12. The highest attendance is expected on Saturday and Sunday.

On Friday, Sept. 17 at 8 p.m., more than 15,000 country fans are expected to attend Eric Church’s Gather Again Tour at Rupp Arena. The doors are set to open at 6:30 p.m.

Those planning to attend the events should try to avoid Main Street and W. Vine Street and park in the High Street Parking lots. Prevailing parking rates will apply.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Portions of West Main Street and Vine Street in downtown Lexington will be repaved starting Tuesday, Sept. 7.

The work is part of the Town Branch Commons Trail project.

The work will take place between Central Bank Center and Quality Street during the next two weeks.

There will be lane closures for milling during the day, and for paving at night.
