#KyProudWeddings contest to offer prizes to KY Proud couples

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – If you’re Kentucky Proud and getting married, you have a chance to win a $5,000 grand prize package through the Kentucky Proud Weddings Contest.

The contest was created by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s (KDA) and launched by the Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles Tuesday.

KDA is hoping the contest will be an incentive for couples to incorporate Kentucky Proud into their wedding ceremony and raise awareness that there are great local businesses that can offer services like those in the wedding industry.

Couples wanting to enter the contest must do the following: submit a qualifying picture or video with the hashtag #KyProudWeddings, tag a Kentucky Proud vendor or member through any social media platform by 11:59 EDT June 30, 2018, and have had their wedding at a Kentucky Proud agritourism venue between January 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018.

Entrants must be Kentucky residents 18 years of age or older.

There will be a grand prize winner of the contest announced at the end of the promotion in July.

The grand prize winner will be awarded $5,000 and monthly winners will receive a Kentucky Proud gift basket at the end of each month during the competition period.

Winners will be selected by a committee made up of media and agriculture industry leaders throughout Kentucky.

No purchase is necessary to win.

TOPS Magazines of Lexington and Louisville will serve as the contest host and media partner.

KDA officials are hoping that the contest will create a buzz with couples getting married and help show how Kentucky Proud is capable of making the special day a memorable one.

Couples are encouraged to post their Kentucky proud wedding plans and pictures on social media.
