KY National Guard called in to help with water crisis
BUCKHORN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky National Guard is helping bring relief to residents in one city in Perry County that has been without water for weeks.
According to the Kentucky National Guard Facebook page, soldiers with the 201st Engineer Battalion have prepared two 400-gallon water tanks to be delivered to the city of Buckhorn.
Some 3,000 people have not had water for almost three weeks after several water lines broke.
Senator Brandon Smith (R-Hazard) says he asked Governor Matt Bevin to declare a state of emergency for the area to get resources to solve the water crisis.
