Ky. jobless rate drops to 5.1% in June

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky’s June unemployment rate dipped to 5.1 percent from 5.2 percent in May 2015, remaining below the national average.

That’s more than a full percentage point lower than the 6.5 percent posted in June of 2014.

According to Manoj Shankar of the Office of Employment and Training, this is the 11th month in a row that unemployment rates in Kentucky have been lower than the national average.
