KY American Water buys water system from Rockcastle Co.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky American Water has announced it purchased the water assets of Eastern Rockcastle Water Association in Livingston.

According to Kentucky American Water, the sale adds approximately 610 water customers in Rockcastle and Jackson counties to the Kentucky American Water system.

The acquisition expands the company’s total service area to portions of 14 Kentucky counties.

Kentucky American Water, a subsidiary of American Water (NYSE: AWK), is the largest investor-owned water utility in the state, providing services to approximately half a million people.
