UPDATE: Identity released of victim in deadly crash on KY 3439

UPDATE (7:58 P.M.):

KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- We now have details on the fatal crash on Ky 3439 in Knox County.

State police say 52-year-old Tony Smith was driving the wrong way in the north bound lane of Ky 3439.

KSP says Smith was driving a 1996 white Ford Ranger was the only person in the car at the time of the crash. Smith was also wearing his seat belt. Witnesses say they saw Smith leave the road and crash into a ditch.

Deputies with the Knox County coroner’s office pronounced Smith dead at the scene. They say health conditions could have been a factor in the collision.

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- State police say KY 3439 just outside of Barbourville is shut down at this time due to a single-vehicle fatality.

KSP is on the scene conducting an investigation.
