Motorcyclist killed in crash believed to have been involved in earlier chase

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Investigators say a motorcycle rider killed in a collision in Richmond on Monday is believed to be the same man who led Madison County Sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase earlier in the day.

The Madison County coroner identified the victim as 24-year old Brandon Carver, of Indiana.

Investigators say Carver was traveling at a very high rate of speed when he went through a red light, hit a car and then the car hit an SUV.

Carver was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene from multiple blunt trauma injuries, according to the coroner.

One other person was taken to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries, according to investigators.

This happened around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Water Street and South Second Street.
