KSP: Woman dies in Rockcastle crash into home

MOUNT VERNON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Madison County Coroner’s Office says one person is dead after a U.S. 25 car crash Saturday night.

According to a KSP release, a Post 11 trooper was patrolling on U.S. 25 in the Conway Community of Rockcastle County. The trooper activated their emergency equipment to stop a 1996 Chevy pickup truck for a minor traffic offense.

Troopers say Courtney Duff, 26, instead of pulling over, sped off, passing several vehicles.

The truck lost control causing the vehicle to flip several times before hitting a home, police said.

Duff was ejected from the car and sustained fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at Berea Hospital that night.

The two other passengers in the truck were also ejected and were airlifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital due to their injuries.

Police say alcohol and drugs are suspected in this investigation.
