KSP: Wet roads a factor in pedestrian’s death

CAYCE, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police say an elderly man was hit by a pickup truck while crossing a highway to get his mail.  The man later died of his injuries.

Investigators say wet roads were a factor in the driver not being able to stop in time and avoid hitting 92-year old Dairus Carr, of Hickman.

The accident happened Thursday near KY 94 and KY 1212 in Fulton County, according to KSP.

Investigators say Carr was taken to a hospital in Union City, Tennessee.  They say he died while being transferred to a hospital in Memphis.

The accident remains under investigation.
