KSP: Trooper-involved shooting leaves suspect dead

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- State police in Hopkins County say a trooper returned fire, killing a suspect after a pursuit.

Troopers say it happened Saturday afternoon in White Plains. They say a trooper from the Madisonville post was pursuing an ATV when the ATV crashed and the suspect, 23-year-old Dylan R. Whitaker, of White Plains started shooting at the trooper.

KSP says the trooper returned fire and hit Whitaker, killing him. The trooper wasn’t hurt and the investigation is ongoing.
