Construction workers, driver identified after work zone crash

ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Three construction workers were hit by a car in a work zone on the Bluegrass Parkway in Anderson County on Tuesday afternoon, according to the state.

Investigators say the 18-year-old Dillan Waldridge told them he hit the three workers after swerving to avoid colliding with another vehicle, while approaching the work zone.

The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. near mile marker 51, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

One of the injured workers, 64-year-old John Wayne Conway was treated and released from an area hospital, according to KSP.

Investigators say the other two workers, 28-year-old Lucas Guinn and 25-year-old Ronald Bickers were airlifted to UK Hospital in Lexington where they were listed in stable condition.

The accident snarled traffic along that stretch of the parkway for about three and a half hours, according to the state.

The scene was cleared just before 8:00 p.m., according to the state.

KSP is asking any witnesses or anyone with information regarding to crash to call them.
