KSP: Suspect in double murder in Jackson County arrested

JACKSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A double murder suspect who has been the focus of a manhunt for weeks is now in custody in Jackson County.

Kentucky State Police say Terry Hammonds was captured Friday morning without incident.

Hammonds is one of two suspects in the murders of 35-year-old Joey Marcum and 28-year-old Whitney Venable.

They were found dead in a burning vehicle on Rock Lick Road in McKee in December of 2017.

The other suspect, 40-year old Bobby L. Hammonds, was arrested last month and charged with two counts of murder.
