KSP seeking armed and dangerous suspect

BELTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police in Muhlenburg Co. are searching for a suspect they say is armed and dangerous.

Officers say just before 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, a car tried to avoid a safety checkpoint at the intersection of US 431 and KY 70.  When Troopers went to stop the car, they say the driver sped up, and pulled into a yard behind a home on Chumley Lane in the Beech Creek area.  Just before coming to a stop, officers say the driver fired a handgun from the driver’s side window.  Troopers say the driver then got out of the vehicle and fired several shots, before running into a wooded area on foot.

Troopers say they have identified the driver as 22-year-old Cody N. McIntosh of Dunmor.  Officers say he is about 5’7″, with brown hair and blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a dark-colored hoodie and gray sweatpants.

Currently, the Kentucky State Police Special Response Team is attempting to locate McIntosh, along with KSP Troopers, K-9 units, the Muhlenburg Co. Sheriff’s Office, the Greenville Police Department, and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Officers are advising anyone who may come into contact with McIntosh to not try to apprehend him, but to call 911 or local law enforcement instead.
