KSP: Registered sex offenders targeted in scam calls

CAMBELLSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police are warning people about reports of scam calls targeted at registered sex offenders.

Troopers say people on the registry are receiving calls telling them they missed a court date and owe money now.

There’s also been reports about some telling the offenders they need to go to state police and get an ankle monitor.

Troopers want to remind everyone this is a scam and to contact your local post if a scammer contacts you.
