KSP: One driver identified after woman pulled over twice in Bell County

BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say they have identified at least one of two people who pulled over a woman in Bell County on Sunday.

The woman says she was traveling on U.S. 25 East near the Bell County Veterinarian Clinic and the Imperial Bait Shop in the Middlesboro when she was stopped by an unmarked green SUV and a man who had a badge around his neck and was wearing a red Carhartt jacket approached her vehicle. She says the man told her she was speeding but never asked for any paperwork. He then advised her to slow down and let her go.

Less than a mile later, the woman says she was stopped by a navy blue SUV. According to investigators, this man did not have a visible badge and began screaming at her and hitting her window.

The woman told the man she was calling police and the man ran back to his vehicle and left.

On Monday, State Police say Constable Jeffrey Bowling told them he made a traffic stop on the alleged victim. Investigators did not say which traffic stop he performed or if they were looking for a different person.

Troopers say the investigation continues and asks anyone with information about the case to please contact Post 10 at 606-573-3131.
