Police seek public assistance after remains found in woods

CADIZ, Ky. (AP) – Police are asking for assistance as they investigate the death of a woman whose remains were found last month in western Kentucky.

Kentucky State Police sent out a statement on Wednesday asking anyone who had contact with 33-year-old Christina D. Edmonson of Cadiz between March 13 and April 25 to contact Detective Brian Hill, who is investigating her death.

Police say they were called to a wooded area in Trigg County on April 25 by a property owner who reported finding a skull. That led to a larger search of the area and police found a body nearby.

The remains were identified as Edmonson. Her cause of death hasn’t been released.

KSP officials are asking anyone who had contact with Edmonson, or knowledge of her whereabouts between March 13, 2017 and April 25, 2017 to contact them at 270-856-3721, or anonymously at 1-800-222-5555.
