KSP: Man in stolen car with stolen gun leads police on chase

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say a man driving a stolen car with a stolen gun and drugs inside was arrested after leading police on a chase.

Investigators say a Trooper tried to pull over 33-year old Jason Overton, of Nashville, on Thursday afternoon on I-165 near the Morgantown Road Exit.  KSP says Overton took off at a high rate of speed.

Logan County Sheriff’s deputies along with Russellville Police eventually stopped Overton on Smith Street in Russellville, where he was arrested.

State Police say the car Overton was driving was reported stolen from Tennessee.  They say the convicted felon also had a stolen gun in the car, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  He was jailed on a dozen charges, including DUI, according to KSP.
