UPDATE: KSP identify man in Thursday morning kidnapping incident
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police have identified the man they say held a woman against her will Thursday morning, and was caught in Lexington.
Police say the suspect is 50-year-old Jeffrey Oliver Rowland, of Winchester.
He has been taken to the Clark Co. Detention Center, and charged with kidnapping.
Officers become aware of the situation after a woman went into the Love’s Truck Stop in Madison Co. and told the clerk she was being held against her will.
The man was eventually arrested after being found hiding in a barn at Central Kentucky Tack & Leather in Lexington.

A man has been taken into custody after Kentucky State Police say he held a woman against her will.
Troopers say at about 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, a woman went in the Love’s Truck Stop in Madison Co., and told a clerk that she was being held against her will. The clerk told Police the woman then went out to a car driven by a man. Officers say the clerk was able to get a good description of the car, the license plate, and the woman.
From that information, investigators working with Lexington Police were able to locate the car at Central Kentucky Tack & Leather near the Thoroughbred Center on Paris Pike.
Troopers say they were able to take the man into custody after he was found hiding near a barn.
According to officers the woman has a domestic violence protection order against the man in Clark Co.
Kentucky State Police had not released the identity of the man at the time of publication, and no word on what charges he will face. Also, they have not released the condition of the woman involved.
