KSP: Man crashes into embankment after falling asleep at the wheel

WALLINS, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police say a man fell asleep at the wheel, went off the road and hit an embankment in Harlan County.

Investigators say Mark Stephens, of Wallins, was airlifted from the crash scene on U.S. 119 in Harlan County to a hospital in Tennessee.

State Police say Stephens was not wearing a seat belt.

The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, according to KSP.
