Standoff in Berea ends, suspect in custody

BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man who reportedly fired shots at officers and then barricaded himself in a Madison Co. home has been arrested.

58-year-old Harold Hill, a twenty year veteran of the Berea Police Department, is now lodged at the Madison Co. Detention Center with multiple charges including attempted murder of a police officer.

Officers say it started around three this morning at a home on Raven Road.  Police say a woman and a child were also in the home but were able to get out.  A special response team were eventually able to take Hill into custody around 9:00 am.

No injuries were reported.

BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say a man has barricaded himself in a Madison County home.

It is on Raven Drive in Berea.

Police say shots have been fired.

Neighbors are being told to stay in their homes.

The standoff has been going on since 3 a.m. Thursday.

Several agencies are on the scene.
