KSP: Man arrested in attempted murder of wife

HI HAT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Troopers say a Hi Hat man has been arrested in the attempted murder of his wife.

According to officers, someone called in a complaint about a stabbing during the afternoon hours of Tuesday, December 8.  When they arrived, troopers say they found 47-year-old Tina Sturgill outside of a home with multiple stab wounds.  Troopers identified the woman’s husband, 51-year-old Thurston Sturgill as a suspect in the case.

Sturgill was found at a family member’s home by Whitesburg Police, who detained him until State Police arrived.

Sturgill was charged with attempted murder and taken to the Floyd Co. Detention Center.
