KSP investigating theft in Clay City

CLAY CITY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say someone stole equipment off of a Kentucky Department of Transportation-owned backhoe in Clay City.

Troopers say they got a call from Powell Co. dispatch around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday about the theft.  They say when they got out to Winchester Road to take a look, they found that two hydraulic pumps and two pieces of the stabilizer legs had been taken off the backhoe, that had been parked on the side of the road.

Investigators say they believe the theft could have occurred as early as Friday, November 13.
