KSP investigating death of Knott County woman

HAZARD, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of a woman who was found unresponsive in a field in Perry County.

Investigators say 30-year-old April N. Higgins, of Sassafras, was found Tuesday off Highway 476 near the Bulan Post Office.

She was taken Higgins to the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort.
