KSP investigate inmate death, fentanyl allegedly involved

FULTON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of an female inmate at the Fulton County Detention Center.

Police say the inmate died on Friday evening after another inmate allegedly gave her fentanyl.

According to KSP, on Friday 40-year-old Charlina Easley was found “unresponsive” in her cell and was taken to a local medical center where she was pronounced dead.

Upon investigating, police found that another inmate, 42-year-old Brandy Reynolds, had allegedly “concealed fentanyl” during her intake at the jail.

Police say Reynolds reportedly provided Easley and other female inmates with the fentanyl.

According to KSP, Reynolds has been charged with six counts of promoting contraband.

A toxicology report was conducted on Easley and results are pending at this time.
