KSP: Inmate walks away from work release detail

CAMPTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Authorities are looking for an inmate who walked away from a work release detail in Wolfe County on Friday, according to State Police.

Investigators say 42-year old Billy Shepherd was working in the Campton area around 7:30 a.m. when he walked-off.

State Police say he’s believed to be in the Wolfe or Magoffin County area.

He is white, 5’7″ 140 lbs. with brown hair and blue eyes.

Shepherd had been in the Three Forks Regional Detention Center in Lee County.
