KSP: Inmate Dies of Possible Drug Overdose in Jail

HICKMAN, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police say an inmate in the Fulton County Detention Center died of a possible drug overdose while in custody.

Investigators say jail officials found 26-year old Kyle Combs, of Lost Creek, in a semi-conscious state in his jail cell during a routine check Wednesday morning.

State Police say Combs was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City, Tennessee, where he was pronounced dead.

KSP says the preliminary investigation shows that Combs overdosed on an unknown drug while in custody.

Investigators say they’re looking into how Combs may have obtained the substance that he apparently overdosed on.
