KSP identify body found in Laurel Lake

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- State police are investigating after a fisherman found a body in Laurel County Lake.

The Laurel County Coroner has identified the body as 21-year-old Andrew Ku from New York.

Investigators say his body was floating near the Marsh Branch boat ramp.

KSP say the body was found around 12:30 Sunday afternoon.

A death investigation has been opened in the case.

Troopers say the body was found in a very popular area of the lake.

“A lot of people come here to boat and fish. It’s one of several boat ramps located on Laurel Lake,” said Trooper Lloyd Cochran with KSP.

Troopers say an autopsy at the State Medical Examiner’s Office is reporting drowning as a preliminary cause of death.
