PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police has released the name of a man who was killed in an officer-involved shooting last week in Perry County

Police say 58-year-old Zendall Noble, of Bonnyman, was fatally shot at a home on Hull School Road on June 11, following a confrontation with officers.

Troopers and a Perry County Sheriff’s deputy went to Noble’s home to conduct a search.

When they arrived, police say they saw five people outside a home run inside, then heard what sounded like a gunshot.

After a short negotiation, three of the five came out.

The other two eventually came out.

Police say one of them was Noble, who had a gun and, when he refused to drop it, gunfire was exchanged.

Noble was killed and Trooper Brad Martin suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, according police.

Martin is a five-year veteran with Kentucky State Police.

He was placed on administrative leave along with Trooper Ronnie Long, who has worked with Kentucky State Police for 24 years, according to police.

Administrative leave is standard procedure when law enforcement uses deadly force.

Perry County Deputy Kevin Day, who has worked for the sheriff’s office for seven years, was also placed on administrative leave.
