KSP: Escaped inmate found hiding behind mattresses

ADAIR COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – An inmate who escaped while being taken to court is back behind bars.

Authorities began their search for 25-year-old William Loy, of Columbia, after he escaped last Wednesday in Adair County.

Kentucky State Police say they received a tip Sunday that Loy was staying in a home in Columbia and was possibly armed.

Troopers went to the home and say the homeowner allowed them to conduct a search.

They say Loy was found hiding behind several mattresses in the home.

He is charged with escape and resisting arrest.
