KSP encourages Black Friday shoppers to support program for kids

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Teddy bears can provide comfort to a child caught in a traumatic situation, that’s why Kentucky State Police hope people will pick up a stuffed animal on Black Friday.

The Trooper Teddy Project gives bears to children involved in things like car crashes, exposure to drugs, or domestic abuse.

Troopers say the bears help the children cope and it calms them down during times of crisis.

KSP say the program is completely funded through donations and the sale of bears, with the Black Friday sale being one of the most successful fundraising events of the year.

For those interested in purchasing a bear or making a donation to the project, visit the KSP website.
