KSP: Driver arrested after colliding with six vehicles

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Russell Springs man was arrested after colliding with six vehicles Thursday afternoon on KY 52 (Irvine Road) in Madison County, according to State Police. Investigators say 28-year old Dustin Brockman was under the influence when the pickup truck he was driving hit a half-dozen vehicles around 5:20 p.m.

State Police say Brockman was charged with 2 counts of Assault 1st, 7 counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st, DUI 1st Offense, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Failure to Produce Insurance Card. He was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center in Richmond.

Investigators say two drivers Brockman collided with were taken to UK Hospital in Lexington with non-life threatening injuries. The accident victims were identified as 56-year old Brenda Smith of Irvine and 61-year old Garland Johnson of Irvine.

KY-52 (Irvine Road) was closed for three hours while the accident was investigated. It reopened at 8:30 p.m.
